Stage 1: reach Jakarta (Indonesia)
Wherever You Go The first step in getting to the Raja Ampat Islands is going to Indonesia. I advise you to land in Jakarta which is better served.
Stage 2: Jakarta - Sorong (West Papua)
- ***** From Jakarta to Sorong 4h, then from Sorong to Waisai 2h by ferry
From Jakarta, you must then travel to the town of Sorong in West Papua, for a flight time of around 4 hours. Only three local companies provide direct flights Jakarta - Sorong:
• Batik Air (Lion Air)
• Garuda Indonesia
• Nam Air
Otherwise there are other companies, which stop at Macassar.
In Sorong you have to go to Waisai, take a taxi, which are plentiful at the airport, the fare will cost you 100,000 rupees, or the equivalent of 6 to 7 euros and no more. Watch out for free riders.
Little tip: if you live in the south of France, via Skyscanner, you can find offers from 700 euros from Barcelona to Sorong via QATAR AIRWAYS and GARUDA, the on-site parking fee is 95 euros for 2 weeks or 150 for 3 weeks. To be checked according to the period. Much cheaper than if you are leaving from France.
Step 3:
Arrived in Waisai, we will pick you up by speed boat to reach our little paradise.
To know: Raja Ampat being a preserved natural area, all visitors must purchase an entry permit to the Raja Ampat Marine Park at the price of IDR 1,000,000 per person or the equivalent of 65 euros per person which is valid for one year.
